ICC Champions Trophy, Preview summer 2017

The first International action on home soil for the summer of 2017 is the Champions Trophy.

Here at Lets Bet Cricket we thought we should have a look in advance at this mini world cup here in England and see if we can find some early value for all our punters.

It’s a fantastic format with just the best 8 sides in the world competing.

Australia lead the betting at a best price of 7/2 with Sportingbet.

1st test at Lords betting preview

So today begins Englands first real test of the summer. As game as Sri Lanka were they never really produced too much of a challenge to what is a strong England team when in home conditions.

However without Anderson for this one and with a weak middle order England could well find Pakistan a big step up. They have enough quality from their pace men to trouble England and get into that hollow looking middle order, where their spinners may … Continue Reading

England V Pakistan 1st Test

England were very good against a very average team when they played Sri Lanka, they had it all their own way. Pakistan away from their adopted home are far less effective, however will still give England a proper test.

England are a top price of 4/5 to win the opening test at Lords and that looks like a bet to us. Although England rarely make thing easy for themselves at the home of cricket this side is in form and … Continue Reading

County Championship Division 1 odds

We have reached the half way stage of the 2016 county championship and its all to play for in division 1. Yorkshire are trying to make it 3 in a row and are favourites at 11/8 with VC.

However with so much of the Yorkshire squad on England duty for the rest of the summer and their attack failing to take enough wickets we think the value lies elsewhere.

We like Middlesex at 9/1 again best price at VCContinue Reading

Joe Root gets another 100

Looking more and more like Root will become and stay at world number 1. The 100 he got today in Johannesburg for us at lets bet cricket is his finest yet.

He has taken England from 7.0 to 2.2 at the close. England now likely to win this game and take the series and without Root and Stokes playing such great attacking cricket England would have certainly lost this game.

We cannot wait for tomorrow.

Some early Ashes bets

Lords

The Ashes battle is a long way off but we think now is the time to get some early bets on to buy those summer drinks later in the year. Australia are just 1.73 as a top price with Hills to win the Ashes on English soil for the first time in 13 years. This seems very short and seems a more likely price for them to win the 1 day series. The tests will come down to Broad and … Continue Reading

Zimbabwe V Ireland, Saturday 3.30am

irish crciket

As has been well written this world cup has failed to ignite, far too many one sided games. That’s not just because the non test playing nations have been poor but also most of the test playing nations. England have been awful, how Broad Anderson and Finn can be so poor is a mystery, maybe they are not working hard in training or going out before games, something is up as they should not be that bad. West Indies have … Continue Reading

Pakistan V South Africa, Saturday 1.00am

south africa

After playing some great cricket in the run up to the world cup things have fallen apart badly for Pakistan at the actual tournament. They need to find a win from somewhere and South Africa are not the team you would pick to play in that situation. With the best player in world cricket Mr A B De Villiers lining them up you would think Pakistan had little chance. Well the bookies agree they have South Africa as a top … Continue Reading

New Zealand v England, Friday morning at 1.00am

new zealand 2

England have only lost one game at this years tournament but such was the manner of the defeat that everyone is rightly reading a lot into it. Against Australia they conceded far too many runs, they failed to use the new ball effectively, did not take enough wickets in the dead middle overs and then once again showed no skill with their death bowling, if you concede 340 + to Australia you simply cannot win, all in all very poor … Continue Reading
